Regina rigida rigida
  • Average size:  14-23 inches; Record 31 inches.  
  • Range:  Found from the central peninsula northwest into the
    panhandle.
  • Diet:  Fish, frogs, salamanders and crayfish.
  • Status:  Uncommon.  They can be found in cypress strands, sloughs,
    sphagnum bogs, swamps, creeks, and streams.
