Thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis
- Average size: 20-28 inches; Record 48.75 inches. Young are 5-9 inches
at birth.
- Range: Throughout Florida.
- Diet: Frogs, toads, lizards, fish, salamanders and earthworms.
- Status: Common
- Often kept as pets. Occasionally will bite. Garter snakes have a
variety of color patterns.
